Hello and welcome to this month’s Thinking Outside of the Box design team blog hop. Fiona has joined the design team so an extra warm welcome to her this month. You may have just joined me from Tanja or starting the hop here but I’m happy to have you join us today.
Today I’m going to show you how to create these sweet little test tube boxes and they are tiny !
Test tube box
I used cardstock for the tube holder and then designer series paper (dsp) for the tube sleeve. The next picture shows what size of card and dsp you will need.
You should score the cardstock at 2cm on each side and then snip along the outside edge on each corner. I then cut a little off each flap before glueing together – you can see on my cardstock piece where I have snipped. Score the dsp at 2.1cm, 4.2cm, 6.3cm and 8.4cm. Next glue the small flap edge over to the opposite side to create your sleeve. You should end up with two pieces like the ones below.
Now pop the test tube inside the holder and slide the sleeve round the box. I made one in Mint Macaron and one in Grapefruit Grove. The final addition is a little tag and some cotton twine tied in a pretty bow. Which is your favourite?
I can’t wait to see what Annette has created for this theme so let’s ahead over and have a look. I’ve left a list of the products I’ve used below the blog hop list. Before you click the “next” button I would love you to leave me a comment below.
Inky hugs,
Carrie
