Another busy week

So it has been another busy week at The Inky Nook and our life in general.  It was Isobel’s GCSE options evening on Tuesday which involved lots of questions and decision making, which seems a lot to ask her when she is not quite a teenager yet.  I’ve had my little boy off school poorly, a village hall management committee meeting, a craft class alongside my accountancy job and general everyday family life. Then just when I thought I was on top of everything, on Wednesday, the lovely Rob at Whoop! Events approached me about stepping into cover a last minute stand at the wedding fair at Jocasta’s today.

Lots of Happy class

Friday night was February’s monthly class and the attendees enjoyed starting to make the beautiful cards contained in this kit.  It is a perfect kit for beginner crafters as it contains everything you need to make all the cards except your preferred glue choice.  Here is a link to Stampin’ Up! YouTube which shows you the kit’s contents in detail.

I thought I would share a work in progress shot with you and it is a great kit to do with friends as you can colour in whilst having a catch up and a drink or two.

You end up with 20 cards, 4 each of 5 designs, and you can switch up the sentiments for the occasions you use most of.  A couple of tips I would give are:

  • colour in the images before you pop them out of the templates
  • if you want to stamp your sentiments as and when required then don’t mount the labels onto stampin’ dimensionals until after you have stamped the sentiment (it’s not easy to stamp onto them neatly otherwise)
  • purchase the blender pens so you can add a watercolouring element to your cards and,
  • if you fancy a new technique then the new Stampin’ Blends give your projects a real WOW ! I used the old olive and rich razzleberry Blends and they are so easy to use.

Here are the finished projects and if you are excited by the kit too then you can order your kit here:

Whoop! Events wedding fair

This was my first wedding fair and the Whoop! Events team and my adjoining standees were so welcoming and offered great advice today.  I also got to talk to some excited couples and their friends and family about their wedding plans and offering advice on how they can make their own wedding invitations or alternative wedding activities like having a bespoke craft workshop for the bride, mother of the bride, mother in law to-be etc  If this is something you’d be interested in then don’t hesitate to get in touch,

The favourite card on my stand today was this one using the Heart Happiness stamp set and this will be my hubby’s Valentines card this week so keep this a secret !
