Stampin’ Up! retiring products
Hello there and welcome to the April SUBA blog hop dedicated to our favourite Stampin’ Up! retiring products. You may have just started with me or hopped over from Sandra at Sandra’s Stamp & Craft Studio but you are going to love what we have to share. SUBA stands for Simply Unique Business Angels which is headed up by Louise Sims and Pip Todman. They have helped me so much with their recent training course and you can find out more about them here .
What’s all the fuss about Stampin’ Up! retiring products?
Stampin’ Up! announces it’s retiring product list ahead of the current annual catalogue finishing on 31st May before the new annual catalogue goes live on 1st June. The good news is that you can still buy those items on your wish list whilst stocks last. In previous years products have disappeared within days of the list being released. I can email you the excel list if you contact me here or click the button below if you want to head straight over to my secure online shop to browse. As demonstrators we are sad to see some favourite products disappear and want to share one or more of those with you today….. two of my favourite products are the retiring Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies ((see them here)) and the Large Numbers Framelits Dies (see them here). Both sets of dies have co-ordinating stamp sets which are retiring too. Today I have a very special person in mind for these projects….
Happy Birthday to my Dad (for tomorrow) !
I love my Dad and he always encourages me to work hard to reach my goals, always believing in me. He is a maths whizz and enjoys sitting with Isobel to work through her homework especially when I can’t remember how to do some of it. My munchkins love their Pops very much and share his love for ice cream and fudge ! So this afternoon we are having everyone over for a huge roast beef dinner followed by chocolate Guinness cake (PS I won’t be sharing this on my social media accounts until after lunch so he will have opened his cards and pressies before he sees them online).
The Inky Nook’s retiring showcase
First off I’ve shared a little snapshot of the completed projects for you all to see: a card, treat bag and a feature gift tag.
Happy Birthday Card
I took a black 6″ by 6″ card base, added a white card layer topped with a black card layer stepped down again. Using the mini treat bag framelits I cut out approximately 8 black stars and arranged them over the black layer. I positioned some to overlap the layer and then snipped the overhang off to give back the straight edge.
Next I cut out a white circle using the Stitched Shape framelits (these are not retiring – whoop whoop) followed by the numbers “7” and “5” using the Large Numbers Framelits in gold glimmer card. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and then added white embossing powder which was set with the stampin’ heat tool. These were all adhered with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The numbers framelits are so versatile as they can be used for birthdays,
Birthday Treat Bag
This bundle isn’t complete without the little treat bag which I’ve added a little shaker inspiration to and carried on the star theme. I added the white star frame to add contrast against the black treat bag. I did this by taking a square of white cardstock and cutting out the star using the framelits. Followed by placing one of the Stitched Shape circle framelits centrally around the die off cut and voila, one star frame.
Special thanks to Mikaela for the card inspiration from one of her recent blog posts and you will stop by her blog a little later on in the hop.
Time to move on….
Thank you so much for joining me today and letting me share some of my favourite Stampin’ Up! retiring products with you all. I’m going to let you into a secret I think I will be keeping both of these sets as I still love them ! If there is something on you Stampin’ Up! wishlist then get it ordered quick as once existing stocks are used up you won’t get the chance again…
I hope you will continue on to see what the lovely Di has decided to share by clicking on the button below. If you have missed any one out then just carry on through each blog post or navigate using the list at the bottom of this post.
Inky hugs,
Carrie
