Hello and welcome to another great blog hop with the Friends of SUBA – are you ready for some spring inspiration?
If you are new to our hop, we are a group of ladies who met on the excellent IT training run by Pip and Louise. We have formed this hop to put into practise what we learned on the training course. I’m thrilled that a year on we are still going strong. If you are want to know more about the SU Business Angels then look here on their website.
We have a blog list at the bottom of each post so you can navigate easily if you forget where you’ve got to.
Spring time
Our spring starts on 20th March in the northern hemisphere and what I love about it is the vibrant colours as Mother Nature comes back to life. I thought the flower style stamps in the Detailed with Love stamp set are spring like. Also, I knew I definitely wanted to use Lovely Lipstick as it reminds me of tulips and the other colours popped out in turn.
Would you like to see the other cards I created? The Pineapple Punch pairs perfectly on each card and I used the “stamping on and stamping off” technique for the primary colour in the background.
Technique for the sentiment label
Susan Wong inspired me to have a go at the two tone colouring that I had seen on some of her cards. If you would like to have a go then:
- Place the top half of the stamp onto the lighter colour ink pad and,
- Next ink up the lower half of the stamp onto the darker ink pad
Finally I added a whisper white layer inside the card and then mirrored the pattern from the front – it just carries on the theme nicely.
Time to spring on a step…
It’s time to hop over and see what Cheryl has created today and trust me it will inspire you… If you want to see exactly what I used for today’s cards there is a product list after the blog hop list

I love the two tone sentiment, the colours are so bright and cheerful. Fabulous makes xxx
Thanks Leighsa – the two tone sentiment does look so effective although I’d definitely recommend inking up the lighter colour first !
Inky hugs,

Love, love all the white space. So clean and pretty.
Thanks Ginny – I definitely have a less is more crafting style but when Stampin’ Up! have such brilliant white cardstock it works with less or more stamping 🙂
