Hello, I’m Carrie at The Inky Nook and I am a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in the UK. I live in the East Midlands and I am married with two teenagers (a girl and a boy) and a naughty cockapoo ! I’ve been teaching classes for 3 years now and have a team of demonstrators too although it’s been 12 weeks now since my last class as we are still in lockdown. Are you ready to see my thank you note?

Thank you note using Free as a Bird with Stampin' Blends by Carrie Bates at The Inky Nook, independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I received some Canva training the other weekend from my upline’s daughter so I wanted to send them both a little thank you card. It was nice to show them how much I appreciated them taking the time to share their knowledge during their weekend free time.

Free as a bird

This stamp set is ideal for colouring whether that is using; ink pads with a blender pen, watercolouring pencils or Stampin’ Blends. Let me let you into a little secret, Stampin’ Blends are fun! I am still learning but the more you practise the more confident and better you get. I used them in one of my lives in my Facebook Group too and the new Jar of Love bundle but you will have to wait for that blog post. You can join my facebook group here

Free as a Bird thank you card by Carrie Bates at The Inky Nook, independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator in the UK

How to make this thank you card

You can re-create this card by stamping your images with Memento Black ink and then allow the images to dry. The Blends that I used here are Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Mint Macaron. I start with the darker Blend of the colour and then bring in the lighter Blend but others like to do the opposite. My suggestion is that you try both ways and see which you prefer and are more comfortable with.

To finish off I added a strip of white cardstock which I stamped with “thank you” and then stuck this to the card with some dimensionals.

See you all soon.

Inky hugs,

Carrie
