When I first saw this stamp set it went straight onto my wish list ! It arrived last week and I got creative after my customers picked this set for my weekly Facebook live session this week. I want to share two great warm and toasty Christmas cards with you today. This set could work well for children’s Christmas crafting too as they could stamp the image and then colour them in. Have you already picked your favourite image below?
Have a cool yule
My husband lit the log burner in my craft room this evening so I was warm and toasty before I started crafting. The first of the two warm and toasty Christmas cards I want to share uses the Polar Bear stamp. Start by stamping them onto a white card layer. Whilst it dried I stamped the ‘have a cool yule’ in memento black. A couple of snowflake stamps positioned either side of the sentiment help to frame it. Using a black fineliner I hand drew a border around the edge of this layer. This gave me the idea to mount the layer on some black cardstock to create a border before mounting on the card base.
Next I coloured the bear’s scarf and bobble hat in with Stampin’ Blends. You can choose your favourite colouring method in my online shop. I opted for some softer colour tones with Petal Pink and Balmy Blue which are not your traditional Christmas colours. Can you see how this shows that the stamp set is versatile and not just for Christmas? The final step was to add some wink of stella to give some sparkle to the coloured areas.
Warm & Toasty Christmas cards with the reindeer stamp
My second card is an adorable reindeer but I am not naming them Rudolph ! To re-create you would stamp the reindeer onto some white cardstock and colour him in. Again I am using Stampin’ Blends but this time it’s Poppy Parade and Crumb Cake. For the next step, use the Stitched Shapes framelits to die cut the reindeer out and a bigger die cut to create a frame behind. I used Poppy Parade cardstock for my frame to coordinate with the reindeer’s bow.
I tied a bow around my card base using the All the Trimmings ribbon before mounting the framed reindeer onto the base with dimensionals. The finishing touch was stamping the sentiment with memento black ink.
