Today I am sharing three cards with you; two are quick and easy cards and the other is my showstopper, a fancy fold pop up card. The last one is for when you have a bit more time to make a pop up card. Before I start you might like to pop over and see everything in the Dandy Garden product suite in my online shop. There are stamp sets, punches, designer series paper as well as ribbon and embellishments !
Simple Dragonfly Garden card
This first card uses the Dragonfly Garden bundle and is simply a dragonfly stamped onto a separate piece of card with the wings filled in with ink and a stamp. Then cut out the image with the dragonfly punch and add a small curve to the wings with a bone folder. This makes it look like the dragonfly is in the air flying. Glue the dragonfly body to the card and pop some basic crystal rhinestones on to the body.
Wildflower card
For this next card stamp the wildflowers in memento black ink and allow to dry. Grab your Stampin’ Blends or chosen colouring tools and begin to add colour to the flower heads and the leaves. Just brushing some Wink of Stella over the flower petals adds a hint of sparkle to finish the card off. This card could be left blank or you could add a sentiment like I have when you are ready to send.
Pop up fold card using the Dragonfly Garden designer series paper
I love to create a fancy fold card for someone special or for an extra special occasion. This is a z fold card with the a secret addition of the dragonfly pop up from behind the front layer. The secret is a card flap with some clear acetate behind the dragonfly. You might need to juggle the secret flap around to get the exact positioning for the dragonfly pop up. The panels on the card itself are a great way to show off the beautiful designer series paper within this product suite.
If you would like a tutorial for how to make a pop up card like this leave me a comment below and if there is enough interest I will do another blog post with a video. Pop back tomorrow evening when I will be hopping with my Stamptastic Friends.
PS See my other fancy fold cards blog posts by following the link and some of them have tutorials too.
