It’s that time of the month again where the Stamptastic Friends hop together and the theme today is Spring or Easter related. I’ve had several customers ask about quick and simple Easter cards they could make themselves. So let’s get cracking shall we?
How to make simple Easter cards
The Springtime Joy cling stamp set has the most adorable Easter images and is they are what drew me to buying this set when I saw it in the current mini catalogue. I stamped the lamb image onto white cardstock and let it dry off before colouring with Stampin’ Blends. Daffodil delight was my go to choice for the card base and I didn’t want to leave the base plain. So using a Daffodil Delight ink pad I stamped on and off with the single flower stem image all over the card front. Do you see how this gives just enough detail on the card base without overpowering the lamb image?
Next, I re-created the same card but with a Sahara Sand card base this time. A top tip is to use a light Stampin’ blend, such as Smoky Slate or Crumb Cake and run over the sheep’s wool detail. This just lifts the detail in the lamb’s wool coat and balances out the colour from the floral crown.
Easter bunny card
For my final card today I copied the same principle from the first two cards but switched the lamb with the rabbit instead. I chose to colour the whole of the rabbit’s ‘body’ in as I felt it would look a little plain if I did not.
So here are all 3 cards together do you have a favourite? I hope you can see who easy it is to create simple Easter cards with me today now let’s see how everyone else has interpreted this month’s theme. Thanks for joining me and the rest of the ladies in the hop do pop by and leave a comment if you have time.
