Welcome to this month’s Stamptastic Friends blog hop where our theme is male cards. I am planning ahead and making a card for father’s day which is only a few weeks a way here in the UK. The first card I made used the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and punch but it felt more like a male birthday card. This card will feature on my blog another day so do come back and visit.
Handsomely Suited is perfect for male cards
Then I remembered the Handsomely Suited stamp set and I adore the bowtie in that so my mind was made up. This card keeps cardmaking simple as it uses just stamps, inks and card. I selected the colours; Night of Navy, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. The blue and dark green feel very masculine to me and the light green of Soft Succulent softens their tones a little.
For instructions on how to make a slide and lock card refer back to my blog post from yesterday. The only difference today is that I have not added the designer series paper panels. Instead you can see I stamp bowties in Night of Navy over the front panels on the card base.

Bowtie gift box to accompany the card for Father’s Day
The pizza gift boxes are one of the many packaging options available from Stampin’ Up! Using a blending brush I coloured the pizza box with Soft Succulent ink.

This is topped with a night of navy square to frame the white square above. The bowties were stamped and fussy cut out before fixing in place with a mini stampin’ dimensional underneath them.
Will you make a card for Father’s Day?

I hope I have provided some inspiration for you today and I know that the other ladies in the hop are going to have some brilliant male card ideas for you too ! If you have the time I’d love to hear what you liked about today’s projects in the comments below. Until next time….
