It’s time to hop along with my Stamptastic Friends again and this month’s theme is small gift packaging. It’s Halloween this month and we get quite a lot of little trick or treaters knocking on our door. So I have created some cute mini Halloween treat bags. Each year I like to wrap up the sweet treats we have in themed packaging and both the mums and childrens faces look excited when they see the bowl. Similarly this could be a fun activity to do with the (grand)children during the October half term holidays.
Step by step instructions to make the mini Halloween treat bags
- Select a piece of designer series paper measuring 6″ by 6″ (15cm by 15cm).
- Next, along one side score at 1.5″ and again at 4.5″ (4cm and 11cm)
- Rotate 90 degrees and then score at 2.25″ and 3.75″ (5.5cm and 9.5cm)
- After that fold along all the score lines so you can clearly see them
- The thin middle section will form the base of the bag so you need to create the flaps from each end. Snip up the score lines to the first fold. You can cut a slight diagonal off each edge on the square that is left to neaten the edges.
- Using double sided tape or Stampin’ Seal apply them to the central square and one of the outside flaps and stick together to form the bag. Next pinch the edges in slightly to bring the top together (see below pic).
- Make a hole at the top of the bag sides for the ribbon to thread through and then tie into a bow. A little tip is to thread one of the ribbon strands back through the first hole and then tie the bow so it sits nicely at the front (see above pic).
- My finishing touch was to add a little Halloween character and greeting to the front of the bag.
What can I put in the treat bags?
These bags are ideal for putting a fun size chocolate bar inside or a little pack of sweets.
Thank you so much for joining me today and I hope you will enjoy making these mini Halloween treat bags to gift on. Please do leave me a comment below before you hop on to the next person from the list below.
