Welcome to the monthly blog hop with the Stamptastic Friends, we are a small group of demonstrators who love tobe creative. This month’s theme is to make a project with our favourite 2 -3 colours from the huge Stampin’ Up! colour collections. My 3 colours are Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate. So I am sharing how to approach simple cardmaking with your favourite colours.
Today’s project is also giving you a sneak peek of 2 of the upcoming sale-a-bration items. You will be able to earn these for free on qualifying orders between 1 July and 31 August. So are you ready to see what I have made?
Hippest Hippos card
Taking a sheet of Blushing Bride cardstock and cutting it half to make a card base (measurements 10.5cm by 29.8cm scored at 14.9cm) Next I cut a layer from a sheet of Smoky Slate card measuring 10cm by 14.4cm and a top layer of Basic White card measuring 9.5cm by 13.9cm.
I stamped the hippo onto some white card and waited for it to dry before using Stampin’ Blends to colour it in. In the meantime I used the Stampin’ Markers in my favourite colours and just randomly stabbed the pen tips around the white card layer. This created the array of dots and slashes across the layer to just tone the white area down.
Do you like what I did on the inside of the card? I think the partial hippo image just adds a bit of fun to the card for the end recipient.
Finally, it was time to assemble the card using dimensionals and glue.
Mini spotty treat holder
Then I thought a cute little treat bag would be fun to send with this card. In an old blog post I share how to make these bags you can see it if you click on the link. These papers will be available during Sale-a-bration too.
Did you like my colour choices today and let me know in the comments what colours you would have chosen. Please continue around the hop to see what the other ladies have created to inspire you this month.
Inky hugs,
Carrie x
