Stamptastic Friends blog hop wording in blue and pink font

Welcome to the Stamptastic Friends blog hop and this month’s theme is ‘celebration’. I was recently asked to make a retirement card to celebrate a local teacher’s primary school career. Immediately Dragonfly Dreams came to mind as it has the ideal greeting ” You are an inspiration”. Also the dragonfly and floral images are really pretty in my opinion.

How to make my retirement card

Cut a card base from Crushed Curry cardstock measuring 14.9cm by 21cm and score the long side at 10.5cm. A standard card base is essentially a sheet of A4 cardstock cut in half. Next I cut a Crushed Curry layer approximately 14.9cm by 9.5cm and I repeatedly stamped the wildflowers along this layer in Crushed Curry too. I stamped two dragonflies out with Starry Sky ink and punched them out with the Dragonfly punch. Then glued the bodies together before gluing to the card layer.

Next I stamped the greeting onto white cardstock and mounted this on to a Starry Sky frame and adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Final steps

I added 3 of the opal rounds embellishments on to the card front. Then taking the Wink of Stella brush and giving it a gentle squeeze to release some of the glitter ink. I tapped the brush handle against the end of my finger to released ‘drops’ of the stella ink onto the card front. You can see them in the image below which I have given a close up view.

The inside layer was kept simple by just adding in the greeting, Happy Retirement so that people could write a message and sign. The greeting is from the retired stamp set , Well Said which is still a go to sentiment set.

I hope the recipient enjoys reading all the messages from her colleagues in her card and that I’ve provided you with some inspiration. Thank you for joining me today and please visit the other blogs taking part in the hop using the list below.

Until next time, inky hugs,

Carrie
