Hello and welcome to this month’s hop where the theme is home decor. We were lucky to welcome my niece to our family in December so I thought a personalised room sign worked well for this theme. So today I am sharing how to make your own personalised children’s room sign with just card, ink and designer series paper.
Product supplies required
I am using products from the Happy Forest Friends Suite as it’s so cute and perfect for a project for children. Other items I used were some cardstock and Alphabet A La Mode dies along with my die cutting machine. If you don’t have a die cutting machine you could just stamp the leaves and acorns and fussy cut them out.
Project steps
Cut the back layer from Calypso Coral cardstock measuring approximately about 8 inches by 5.5 inches. Then drop 0.25 inches form these measurement to cut the white card layer. The designer series paper is another 0.25 inches for the designer series paper layer. Glue these together and leave to dry whilst you begin your die cutting. Don’t forget to stamp your woodland bear and cut him out too. If you don’t have lots of cardstock colours you can colour in the white cardstock and then die cut the trees, acorns from that instead.
If you are using different card and papers then I would advise cutting the letters using a colour that contrasts with the paper. To begin with I was going to use So Saffron but the yellow just didn’t stand out enough so that is when I used white card instead.
Finishing touches
The loose daisy embellishments just add another little pop of colour and dimension to this personalised children’s room sign.
All that is then left to do is to stick some ribbon to the back of the sign so you can hang it on the door or from it’s handle. I am so happy with how this turned out and would love to hear if you will be having a go.
Thanks for joining me today and please visit the other ladies in the blog using the list below and leave a comment or two. We love to hear what you think of our projects or if you’ve had a go.
Inky hugs,
Carrie x
