Good evening and welcome to the May Stamptastic Friends blog hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who love to share our creative ideas to inspire you. This month’s theme is a challenging one for me as it is about making something for the men in your life. I always find making a male birthday for my Dad, husband, son, brother and male friends more difficult. So I am thrilled to share this berr themed male birthday card with you today.
Males birthday card steps
This is one of the cards my Crafty Cuppa ladies had the option of making at this week’s session and it proved very popular. These sessions are all about enjoying making a couple of simple cards and expressing their creativity. We also have a big chat about the ups and downs of life alongside a cuppa and homemade cake.
Firstly I wanted to keep the colour choices simple and chose Basic Gray and Daffodil Delight for the stamping.
Card base and layer measurements
The card base is Basic Grey and measures 14.9cm by 21cm scored at 10.5cm and the stampin trimmer makes this so simple to do. Next the basic black layer needs cutting at 13.3cm by 8.9cm and I think this makes the top white layer pop out. The white layer on top needs to measure 12.9cm by 8.5cm and the inside white layer should be 14.4cm by 10cm.
How to stamp the top layer
Now, it’s the fun part of stamping your beer glasses for your male birthday card. We’ve got a family friend’s birthday coming up for who I will be sending this card to. My tip is to stamp the large beer glass in the centre so that the bottom of the glass sits about three quarters of the way down the layer.
Next, stamp the pint glasses either side and stamp on the ‘foam’ which gives you your middle layer. It is now much easier to line up your other rows as you don’t have to think about the gap needed for the foam on top. Alternate the glass stamps on the rows as this adds interest to the pattern.
Once you’ve stamped all your glasses you can stamp the ‘beer’ into the glasses with Daffodil Delight.
Final steps
Grab a scrap piece of white cardstock and stamp your greeting in Basic Gray on to it. Trim it down to size and then rub the edge of the greeting layer along your ink pad. This just edges off the greeting and helps it pop up in front of the beer glass layer. Fix this to the card with stampin dimensionals and you are finished !
As an alternative option you could cut a little grey frame to sit behind the greeting rather than edge it with the ink pad.

Until next time, inky hugs,
