Happy Easter Monday to you ! My intention was to get this post written up yesterday but time with family meant that did not quite happen as planned. However, I still wanted to share these two simple Easter cards with you. The Easter Bunny stamp set is retiring in April 2024 so if you love it place your order quick.

Simple Easter cards 1

For the first of the simple Easter cards you need Petal Pink cardstock and white cardstock. My standard card base is : 21cm by 14.9cm scoring on the long side at 10.5cm which is a sheet of A4 cardstock cut in half.

Next I stamped the bunny and the carrots using memento black ink and allowed them to dry off a few seconds. Whilst I cut the inside card layer measuring 10cm by 14.4cm. The bunny is coloured using Pecan Pie stampin’ blends and a dark Petal Pink stampin’ blend for the ears and paw pads. Colouring the carrots with Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green stampin’ blends. The Stampin’ Blends are gorgeous to with and my advice is to practise, practise and practise using them. Your confidence grows when you practise and I like to start with the dark blend followed by the light blend.

Next, randomly stamp a few hearts from the Bee Mine Valentine stamp set in Petal Pink. This adds some background detail but is still very subtle as its tone on tone colouring. Now, secure the bunny on top of the stamped images with mini dimensionals.

Finally, the greeting is created by using black cardstock and heat embossing ‘Happy Easter’ on to it. Before securing to the card with dimensionals I did add a little curve to the greeting banner with a bone folder to add more dimension. The inside card layer for writing on is 10cm by 14.4cm. A couple of little white daisies add a subtle finishing touch.

Simple Easter card 2

The second of the simple easter cards has a soft sea foam card base and a black frame behind a white top layer. The black frame measures 10.2cm by 14.2cm and the white layer is the same size as card 1. Again stamp your bunny onto some white card and then colour with the Stampin’ Blends as before. I think the tummy area and tail look cute left in white and then just a little pink inside the ear.

The Easter greeting uses heat embossing on a black cardstock and with white powder. A sprinkly of wink of stella adds a very subtle shimmer to the card front. You can do this by squeezing a little glitter to the end of the brush and flick the brush tip against the lid over the card.
