Hi there and welcome to the July 2024 Stamptastic Friends blog hop. We hop every month together and some months that might be 3 of us and other months there could be 8. So please do hop round this month’s hop and our blogs for crafting inspiration. This month we are sharing a crafting tool and I’ve chosen my paper snips scissors ! They are seriously underrated and can transform your cardmaking in such simple ways.

Use them to cut your greeting label

Simply stamp your greeting on a strip of white cardstock and then trim off the excess card. You can keep both ends straight or you could add a diagonal cut or a flag banner end. Which is your favourite with my essential crafting tool?

Alternatively fussy cut the greeting stamped image out and I think this looks particularly effective where the greeting is in a “handwritten” font. Do you agree?

Use them to fussy cut a stamped image

Stamping an image and fussy cutting it out if you don’t have a die cutting machine or punch is so easy. I find it quite therapeutic with the paper snips to cut out several images and make a few cards. You can elevate a card by popping a fussy cut image on some dimensionals (foam pads)

Example card sketches for you to try

Here is an example with a fussy cut greeting and butterfly. I love the 2024-26 In Colours as they are vibrant but not too bright.

If you wanted to boost this card a little I would suggest adding some gems or stamp a background greeting. In the spotlight has a couple of background stamps you could use.

This is the second card sketch and I would add gems to give it a little extra wow or add another colour cardstock punched circle. Again stampin’ dimensionals would give boost then flowers and you could just curl the ends of the flowers to make them 3D. A bit like I have done with the butterfly on the example above. You can use the side of your scissors and just draw the image around the edge to curl them up.

Thank you so much for joining me today and do leave me a little comment below before hopping onto the next Stamptastic Friend.

Until next time, inky hugs, Carrie x
