Welcome to the monthly Stamptastic Friends blog hop where our theme is Christmas. Now I know it’s early but if you can get 2-3 cards made each week now then you’ll be ready in no time to send them! My fun Christmas card below was very popular at my Crafty Cuppa class on Friday and everyone asked for it to come back again in November. So, lets get started.
How to make the fun Christmas card
First of all you will need to pick and cut a coloured cardstock base measuring 14.9cm by 21cm scored in the middle (10.5cm). Then cut a couple of white card layers for the front and inside of you card and stamp the Santa onto another piece of white card.
Take one of your white card layers and stamp the waves with a blue ink pad. I have used Balmy Blue to match the Stampin’ Blend I picked to use. Also stamp the sun in the top corner and now the Santa you stamped earlier should be dry. Now you can get blending with the Blender pens to finish off this fun Christmas card.
I began with the surfboard adding some depth to the areas that would naturally be darker due to shadows. Then blend in with the lighter pen to fill the remaining space. The light petal pink is ideal for the skin colouring and the light balmy blue perfect for the sunglasses. The shorts can be in traditional colours or you could go funky with brighter colours.
Final steps
Glue the front card layer to the card base and the other layer in the inside. Finally cut out the Santa on his surfboard and secure over the waves with some dimensionals. It might be fun to add some wink of stella over the waves.
Make multiples and mix up the card base colours and change the sentiments as this can make a fun birthday card too! Thanks for joining me today and please do hop round and see what the other design team members have created for us.
See you again soon, inky hugs, Carrie x
