Stamptastic Friends blog hop wording in blue and pink font

Welcome to the first Stamptastic Friends blog hop of 2025 and wishing you a creative New Year! So our first theme of the year is new beginnings and a new creative hobby would be great for you. I think cardmaking for beginners can be overwhelming but hopefully I can make it more simple for you. The link above takes you to a great resource page on my shop website which helps direct you to the best products for your skill level. I am excited to see how the other ladies interpret the theme this month too.

The new quick and easy options make cardmaking for beginners stress free as you can pick a pack or printed pieces and pre cut elements. All you need to do is pop them out and design your layout and then stick to your card base. I am using the Spring Celebrations mix and match ephemera pack which has some really pretty images. You get two sheets of three designs and the image below shows the three sheets you get.

If you wanted a little more versatility with your greeting options then I’d recommend the Greetings for All pack as it contains multiple greetings. Alternatively, if you just wanted just birthday cards which is the type of card I send most of then the Birthday treats and mix ephemera pack should also be in your new craft kit

Cardmaking for beginners – 1st design

This first design is so simple and beautiful as the butterfly pre cut image is so delicate and softly coloured. You can only just see the soft floral details on the card base which is also slightly aged around the edges. I glued the frame to the card and then used foam pads (dimensionals) to secure the butterfly and the greeting.

Cardmaking for beginners – design 2

My second design uses the blue card base and when I laid out my pieces I felt the brown frame was slightly to dark for the card layout. So I flipped it over as the back of the frame is white so I could colour it in. My colouring tool was a green alcohol marker but could use a colouring pencil, ink pad or colouring marker instead.

To bring in the green a little more I rubbed the end of the pen around the greeting label too to just give a hint of a green frame on the label too. These packs would also lend themselves so well to scrapbooking too and makes them twice as useful !

So if you’re tempted to have a go at cardmaking let me know and do hop around and visit the other ladies using the list below. Good luck on your cardmaking for beginners journey and follow me for inspiration or ask any questions below.
