It’s time for the Stamptastic Friends March blog hop and we’re celebrating women. Earlier this month it was International Women’s Day on 8 March and this meant I could share this cute daughter birthday card with you. I’m so proud of the independent amazing young woman she is becoming. I hope I’ve inspired her during her childhood years to be strong, confident and independent all the while knowing she has a great support team of family and friends when she needs it.
How to make my cute daughter birthday card
Firstly its time to create the card base from white cardstock measuring 29.7cm by 10.5cm. This is just an A4 sheet cut in half portrait way up rather than the usual landscape. Next score the card at 14.85cm to create your fold line and then set to one side. Following this, It’s time to pick the paper to become your background from the wildflower designer series paper and you can see I went for the soft pink, green and white stripes. This is probably the hardest part of the card as the designer papers are all so pretty! Cut this to cover the whole of the card front which is 14.85cm by 10.5cm and glue to the card base.

The pre cut shape which provides the focus of my daughter birthday card is the big birthday cake slice. This is just glued on top of the designer paper front. I decided the greeting was going to be “make a wish” as that’s what you do when you blow out your candles isn’t it? Next, I added sparkle by heat embossing the greeting with copper powder and cut it out with the stylish shapes dies. This was secured to the card front with dimensionals and popping a folded strip of the gold weave ribbons behind it before securing.
Finally, adding some little party dots randomly around the card front just makes the card seem that more special.

Self care package for a friend
One of my besties has had a really tough week so I made her a little self care package. Using a bag (retired product but find current packaging ideas here) filled with mini Clarins samples. Then I snuck in a little bottle of gin so she was already for a little pamper evening. I used some of the pre cut images from the Wildflower Birthday designer series paper to create the gift tag. Finally, I added a special message for her on the back of the tag.

Well, I hope I’ve inspired you to create something special to celebrate the women in your life. Now, it would make my day if you’d leave me a comment or save this post. Remember to use the list below to hop over and see what the other ladies have created for today’s blog hop.
Until next time, inky hugs, Carrie x
