This last month has flown by as it’s time to hop with my Stamptastic Friends again ! Now whether you are an experienced crafter or new to crafting this is a handmade birthday card you’ve got to have a go at. The Turtle-Y Awesome stamps combined with the watercolouring pencils and blender pen make card making simple!

Steps to create your turtle handmade birthday card

Firstly, create your card base measuring 21cm by 29.8cm scored at 10.5cm and a white card layer measuring 10cm by 14.4cm

Second, using a blending brush (or something similar) to create your grass background and then add your “blades of grass” using the green watercolour pencil with 3 flicks in random formation.

The third step is to stamp your turtle images and their party hats and props and colour them in. Once coloured you can use the blender pen to give a more painted look like I have. By colouring heavier in some areas than others you can create depth to the stamped images.

You can cut all of the stamped images out with the co-ordinating dies but if you don’t have a die cutting machine it’s easy to cut them out. The bonus of the dies is that for the turtle holding an ice cream the dies cut out his arm so it looks almost 3-dimensional. I also popped a dimensional behind this arm when I secured the turtle to the card to help it pop out a little more.

Final steps

Fix both your turtles to the card layer and then secure their party hats and the ice cream and birthday cake. Stamp your greeting onto the card layer and you’re all finished! I’ve already got someone in mind to send my card too and I bet you can think of someone who would love to be the recipient of your own handmade birthday card too….

Thank you for joining me today and do hop around the blogs to see what everyone else has created. Let me know in the comments who you’d be sending this card to.

Inky hugs, Carrie x
