It’s already July’s Stamptastic Friends blog hop and this month our theme is friendship. Personally, I have lost 2 very special people in the last 2 years alone and my Dad had a stroke 10 weeks ago today. My close friends have been there for chats, tears, hugs and laughter when I’ve needed them most. They even sent cards of support which inspired me today for my “here for you” card.
The Love & Strength stamp set had some beautiful greetings offering words of encouragement and support. It is not just a stamp set for sympathy cards which I think some people assume.
Here for you card
So to get started I selected a Fresh Freesia card base measuring 29.8cm by 21cm, scored on the shorter side at 10.5cm. Next I cut two white layers measuring 14.4cm to 10cm. One was glued on the inside of the card and the other is for the front of the card. With the front layer I randomly stamped the “ink splatter” image in Fresh Freesia before gluing to the card base.

I stamped the floral stem in memento black ink and then coloured with Stampin’ Blends. To give a slightly deeper colour to the leaves I used Old Olive in the middle and then Granny Apple Green to fill in. Then I fussy cut around the stem and flower before fixing to the card with dimensionals.

The greeting is embossed with white embossing powder on to black cardstock. I trimmed the label down to size and just cut the one end at an angle to add a little more interest.

The finishing touch was to add a few rhinestones for that little bit of sparkle and my card is now ready to send.
Thanks for joining me today and I hope you’re looking forward to seeing what the other ladies have created too. Make sure you drop that friend a card to say , I am here for you whenever you need me !
Inky hugs, Carrie x
