Welcome to the October Stamptastic Friends blog hop where this month the theme is festive memories. Part of my festive memories for over 10 years now has been making Christmas cards for my family and friends. One of my lovely neighbours keeps the cards we send her and gets them all out each year along with her current Christmas cards. A handmade card lets that person know that you’ve not only thought about them but you’ve taken the time to make that card just for them. So let’s show you how I’ve made this simple Christmas card.

First of all I cut my card base from Mossy Meadow cardstock but you can use any Christmas colour you like. The card base measures 14.8cm by 21cm and then scored at 10.5cm on the long side. This is my go to card base and fits perfectly into a C6 regular envelope.

Next cut two layers of white card; one for the front and one for the inside and I cut mine to 14.4cm by 10cm, Glue one layer to the inside of your card base.

Then I stamped the holly leaf stamp with black ink randomly over the card layer. Whilst I waited for this to dry off for a minute (it doesn’t really need that long) I created my greeting label by heat embossing “Merry Christmas” on to a piece of black cardstock. The stampin’ blends are perfect for colouring in the holly leaves and berries as you can add depth with shading.

Final steps

I folded some gold ribbon behind the greeting label and just secured it into place with a small strip of double sided tape. The greeting label was then fixed in to place with some stampin’ dimensionals.

Hope you have enjoyed seeing how I made this simple Christmas card today and please do hop around and see what everyone else has shared for festive memories.

Inky hugs, Carrie x
