Meet the Stampin’ Up! Bird Banter stamp set
The Stampin’ Up! Bird Banter stamp set didn’t immediately jump out at me in the Spring/Summer 2018 catalogue (request your copy from me here) . My upline, Lizzie from Cherry Owl Crafting gave me the set as she accidentally ordered it twice ! Now, I have to say, I love it…..
I knew this set would be perfect for making Lizzie a card to say thanks for all her support last week (see last week’s post here ). The Bird Banter stamp set is perfect for using with Stampin’ Blends and I knew which sentiments I would use. I just love the play on words in this sentiment and it made Lizzie smile too !
The card base is Wild Wasabi, the Whisper White layer is stamped with Smoky Slate and Wild Wasabi ink. I cut two circles using the Layering Circle Framelits with one in smoky slate and one in whisper white. The feature toucan is stamped onto whisper white cardstock and coloured with the Stampin’ Blends before being hand cut out. I’m so tempted to increase my Stampin’ Blends collection and you can see them all here . Finally, the inside of the card:
Stampin’ Up! Bird Banter stamp set is so versatile
I couldn’t let the fun stop there so I have made this cute card, gift voucher holder and mini frame. I think these are great for a birthday gift or as a little pick me up for a friend.
Bird Banter birthday card
Taking a Sahara Sand card base and ink pad and stamping the hat, heart and small flower randomly over the base. I then cut a Basic Black layer and a Very Vanilla layer for the parrot to sit on. Repeat the same steps for the sentiment using Rich Razzleberry. Next stamp the parrot, balloon and hat onto some scraps of Very Vanilla cardstock. Remember to use our Memento or Archival ink pads when using the Blends or watercolouring as these inks won’t bleed. As the ink dries you can begin colouring and then hand cut out the images and adhere to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Bird Banter picture frame
My daughter was in a crafty mood this morning, she’s almost thirteen so this mood doesn’t happen often. I seized the opportunity and asked her to create a picture for the little box frame. She is a perfectionist and secretly she loves to use the watercolouring pencils and brush. I couldn’t resist photographing the picture with roses from my Valentine’s bouquet to frame the two little love birds.
Bird Banter treat bag
The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies are ideal for creating little bags for popping gift vouchers inside or sweet treats. The antique lace trim sets off the Happy Birthday label as it just peeks over the top and bottom edges. I then tied a piece of the antique lace trim around the lower part of the bag and tied in a double knot.
