Summer Holiday = happy memories

Hello and welcome to the latest Friends of SUBA blog hop where we are sharing our summer holiday craft inspiration.  You may have just hopped over from the fabulous Caro at Craft with Caro or be starting the hop with me.  We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who met through Simply Unique Business Angels IT training – click here to visit their website.  Pip Todman and Louise Sims run SUBA and are brilliant teachers and IT gurus.

Some of our group are away on holiday at the moment so the hop is a little shorter than usual.

A few days away in Dorset

The inspiration for today came from our stay at The Pig Hotel in Studland with hubby’s family.  This boutique hotel is stunning with its rooms with coastal views and fresh mouth-watering food.  The whole team are so friendly and helpful we didn’t want to leave except to get home to the dog. The whole atmosphere is laid back and relaxing even if we did encounter a power cut and false fire alarm ! It really was a special treat from my mother-in-law and I’m so grateful we could appreciate every minute.

Moments to treasure

Bringing those summer holiday snippets to life whilst they are still fresh in our mind is important to me.  I want us to be able to appreciate them in the future and trigger those memories .  The photo I chose is of us with my brother-in-law’s family and lining up 9 people in the sea isn’t an easy task.

I mainly use the Memories and More multi pocket pages and card packs because it’s easy to quickly document our favourite photos and journal alongside.  Currently I’ve been experimenting with full 12×12 layouts and really enjoying showcasing an extra special photo.

I selected my colours from the Brights collection as they complement the happiness and fun of this photo.  Next I used the Large Letters stamps with the co-ordinating framelits and adhered them using mini stampin’ dimensionals.  I added a little sparkle  with some rhinestone jewels and a drizzle of Wink of Stella to the”SAND” and “SEA” letters. I will possibly add narrative once I’ve printed off the other holiday photos but for now I love it.

I’ve included a list of the products I’ve used if you wanted to order anything you’ve seen after the blog hop list at the bottom.  These will link through to my online shop so you can see more detail and images on them.  Don’t forget to use this month’s hostess code which can be found here for any orders up to £150.  If your order is more than this then you might wish to consider joining my team as the starter kit (that you pick for yourself) costs £99 and you pick £129 worth of product click here to find out more.

Goodbye to the summer holidays….
