Welcome to this month’s blog hop where it’s all about designing an easel top matchbox. I’m guest designing with the lovely ladies below until Zoe is well enough to return after her operation. Here is a pic of all the ladies who are part of this creative design team.
What is an easel top matchbox?
Simply, it’s a matchbox with a little sliding top which looks like an easel when it’s up ! I’ve designed mine so that it perfectly fits in the whisper white narrow note cards and envelopes. Thank you to Susan Wong (who currently heads up the Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team) for inspiring me with making a slightly larger easel top matchbox after one of her recent social media project posts. Are you ready to see my project?
The easel part simply folds down flat and I tied some of the Blackberry Bliss twine around the fold of the easel so that it stays secure.
Narrow notecards and envelopes
To make the co-ordinating notecards you will need the Love What You Do stamp set to stamp the background and your chosen sentiment. Next fussy cut the sentiment out and glue the words onto a circle cut out from the co-ordinating designer series paper. I used the Stitched Shapes framelits to cut my circles but you could also use a small circle punch.
Finally pop them in the drawer and thats how you make an easel top matchbox !
So until next time…..
If you would like to have a go at re-creating this adorable matchbox then please click the following tutorial link where I’ve created a tutorial for you to follow.
I would love you to comment below on what words you would include or what you thought of my project this month. Please hop around the other ladies and I know they would appreciate your comments as much as I will.
Inky hugs,
