Welcome to my Be Mine Valentine

Hello it’s Carrie here from The Inky Nook and I’m hoping to inspire your Valentine’s crafting this evening.  This Be Mine card and co-ordinating gift box have been enjoyed by my classes this week.  I’ve had 6 first time stampers as well so these projects could be made by a beginner or a more experienced papercrafter.

Be Mine Gift Box

The projects used the Meant to Be stamp set and matching Be Mine dies along with the colours Flirty Flamingo and Real Red.  I think these colours are a beautiful combination and really pop out against the whisper white cardstock.

I used sponge brayers to add a hint of colour to the pizza box before stamping the smaller two hearts randomly all over.  Next stamp the sentiment and punch out with the Label Me Lovely and Label Me Fancy punches.

Using the border die I cut a 1cm strip form real red cardstock and trimmed it to edge the sentiment label.

To finish off, adhere a heart doilie to the box lid with mini dimensionals.  Thread the ribbon through the label and tie around the box. Don’t forget to fill the box with some treats for your someone special (mine has Love Hearts as hubby likes thouse).

Be Mine Valentine’s card

Who will be your someone special to send this card to?

I picked a Flirty Flamingo card base with a whisper white layer. I’ve topped this with the multiple heart die cut.  I created the ombre effect by using the sponge brayer to layer up different levels of the two ink colours on whisper white cardstock.

The hearts that come out from the die cut impression are then glued onto the card base in a little stream.  The remaining hearts I used as confetti inside my gift box- so no waste !

The sentiment was cut out using one of the stitched heart dies and the edge is from the same die but using real red cardstock.

This card would also be perfect for an engagement card, anniversary card if you used an alternative sentiment.

Time to say goodbye

Right it’s time to say goodbye as I’m finishing off some mini Valentine treat bags for my daughter’s ballet class on Tuesday evening.  I’d love to hear if you like the projects below or if you want to ask any questions about what I’ve done.

I’m back next week hopping with my Stamptastic Friends !

Inky hugs,

Carrie
