How to make the treat boxes

First choose a piece of designer series paper measuring 15cm by 15 cm (6″ by 6″). Other items you will need are a pair of scissors, bone folder and a paper trimmer (or simply scoring tool).

Secondly, score one length at 2.5cm, 7cm, 9.5cm and 14cm (imperial measurements 1″,2.75″,3.75″ and 5.5″

Thirdly turn the designer series paper 90 degrees and score at 2.5cm and 12.6cm (imperial measurements 1″ and 5″)

Next you need to cut out the two rectangles to create the box “lid”. So cut off the two rectangles either side of the thin flap as you can see in the middle picture above. Then create the box flaps by cutting up to the 1″ and 5″ score lines. If you want to you can just snip off a slight diagonal edge on the two square flaps. I find this gives a slightly neater edge to your box.

Step 5 – Glue the square flaps on the inside of the bigger flap. Above on the third picture along, you can see how the flaps will fold in.

The final step is to embellish the outside of your box and as you can see below how I have tied some ribbon around in a bow. Then added a tag which I have tied on with some twine style thread to create a double bow. The sentiment was die cut using the Well Written dies but you could switch for any other sentiment. I have included a product list at the end showing the basic items I have used but the ribbon etc is your personal choice depending on the designer series papers you pick.

What can you fit inside the treat boxes?

These treat boxes are an ideal size for a 2 or 3 Celebrations or Cadburys Heroes chocolates or maybe a lip balm. Once you’ve made one it is so easy to make multiples.
