It’s National Hug Day on the 21 January 2021 so welcome to today’s hop as we share love and hugs through papercrafting.
So I wanted to send love and hugs to my friends and have my first play with the Gilded Leafing flakes. Who would you love to hug right now?
Miss you pizza box
Before we get to the card I want to share this little gift box which I will fill with some sweet treats. I stamped the little hearts in Petal Pink and die cut the words using the Well Written Dies. The final part was to add the golden twine thread for a little sparkle. This thread is part of the Forever Greenery ribbon pack but you could choose something different.
What treats would you fill this little box with? I should mention that these are food safe so you could pop a homemade cookie or fudge inside !
Hugs for you card
This is my first time of using the NEW gilded leafing flakes and I just had to try using them with the Painted Texture embossing folder. If you haven’t come across these before then I will share how you need to apply them. Firstly you need to stamp some versamark to your cardstock and sprinkle some heat and stick powder on top. Follow up by applying the gilded leaf flakes on top and allow to cool down. Now you can wipe off the excess gilding and I use a dry sponge. For my card I embossed the card layer first before applying the versamark with a sponge dauber.
My “HUGS” were die cut using the Playful Alphabet dies and I stuck some foam sheet behind the cardstock before running through the mini stampin’ cut and emboss machine. The ‘for you’, from a sentiment in the Meant to be stamp set and was heat embossed onto black cardstock and then fussy cut out. Finally I glued this top layer to a gold layer and petal pink card base.
Now all I need to do is get this card in the post and leave you to visit the other ladies in the hop. Just use the blog list below to move around the hop. And if you have the time please do leave a little comment below for me. I’d love to hear if you enjoyed my projects today.
