Welcome to the monthly Stamptastic Friends blog hop where this month’s theme is ‘birthday’. If I am honest most of the cards I make are for birthday cards for friends and family and today I’m sharing easy greeting only birthday cards. A greeting only stamp set is so versatile and an essential basic item to have in your card making toolkit. Today I am using the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set as I love the font in it.

Greeting only birthday card using the 2022-24 In Colours

The 2022-24 In Colours have recently launched and I am slowly beginning to find myself using them more and more in my cardmaking. Their names all have a tropical feel and I think the image below shows them off nicely.

My cards today use the first 3 In Colours starting with a card base and the ink pad for one In Colour and then adding in one other In Colour ink pad. I have replicated the same design three times to show how easy and quick these greeting only birthday cards are to make.

How to make today’s card

5 simple steps are all that are needed to make this greeting only birthday card

• Select and cut your standard card base in one of the In Colours
• Choose 2 birthday themed greetings from your chosen stamp set and stamp 1 greeting in the same ink colour as the card base. Stamp the other greeting in the other chosen ink colour and use a mix of stamping on and off the card. Stamping off is where you stamp the greeting onto a scrap piece of paper before then stamping onto your card. Your stamping should be random across the card front.
• Stamp your main greeting onto some basic white cardstock and punch out with a label punch. I have used the Label Me Lovely punch today. Fix this to your card base with stampin’ dimensionals.
• Create your own In Colour thread by applying ink with a sweeping motion on a blending brush. Tie a small bow and add a little blob of glue to your punched out greeting and secure in place.
