Welcome to the October Stamptastic Friends blog hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world who love being creative. This month’s theme is Christmas and I’ve got a couple of simple and quick Christmas card ideas for you.

Simple Christmas card idea showing a stamp set containing Christmas greetings and images of fairy lights, stars, baubles, candy cane and Santa hat. These are flagged by Real Red and Garden Green ink pads.

These cards are easy to replicate and make multiple card in one session. Plus by using only use 2 colours you can alternate colour combinations or if you have limited ink pads it doesn’t matter.

Quick Christmas idea 1

My first card uses simple stamping and is ideal for beginners or making multiples of the same design. The card base is half a sheet of A4 cardstock (approximately 14.cm by 21cm) and you should score in the middle at 10.5cm. Today’s colour choices are Real Red and Garden Green but you can switch for 2 colours in your own collection.

Quick Christmas card 2 – stepped up version

This next idea is a more stepped up version as it introduces a coloured card base and embellishments which add dimension to the card design. The ink pad colours remain the same and the card base is Real Red too (same measurements as before). The greeting is stamped onto white cardstock and I have switched the colours around to the first card. My tip would be to stamp the greeting and then cut it down to size before you fix to the card base. Today I used the rectangular stitched dies to cut mine out.

Next stamp the santa hat and candy cane on to some scrap cardstock and then fussy cut them out. Before I assembled the card I thought it would be nice to randomly stamp the star (outline) over the card base creating a background. Inside my card I stamped some more of these stars along the bottom edge as show below.

Both the greeting rectangle and these two images are fixed to the card using stampin’ dimensionals. The finishing touch is to add some red rhinestones and give the card a little sparkle.

Inky hugs, Carrie
