Welcome to the February 2023 Stamptastic Friends blog hop where the theme is fancy folds. I am going to show you how to make this fancy fold card.

Stamptastic Friends blog hop wording in blue and pink font

There are so many types of fancy fold cards and this one is a pop out fancy fold. The other ladies will all have a different one to inspire you with and they vary from simple to complex versions. One of my current favourite stamp sets is, Friendly Gnomes as the gnomes are super cute and gives me a chance to practice using my Stampin’ Blends markers. These are Stampin’ Up! alcohol markers and they are available in almost every colour in the SU collection. So shall we get started?

Card supplies required:

– a piece of cardstock measuring 8.5″ by 5.5″ scored at 4.25″ on the long side (I have used Fresh Freesia)
– 1 x white (or vanilla) cardstock measuring 5″ by 6″ scored at 2″ and 4″ along the 6″ side
– a piece of designer series paper measurung 5.5″ by 4.25″ (I have used the saleabration Dandy Designs designer series paper (DSP)
– some scraps of white cardstock for stamping on

Other materials/tools required:

– die cutting machine
– stylish shapes dies
– paper trimmer
– variety of Stampin Blends colours

Next steps

Stamp your chosen gnome images and allow the ink to dry before you begin colouring with your Stampin’ Blends. I offset the toadstool on the white card so that it partially appears in the background before cutting out with the stylish dies. Whilst the ink is drying you can glue the DSP to the front of your card and then cut out the square for the pop out to come through.

Don’t glue the whole of the DSP as then when you die cut the square out the DSP cut out will peel off. The cardstock square will be used to glue to the white card concertina.

Glue the white concertina to the inside back part of your card base leaving an equal border around the edge. Please see above where I positioned mine. You will notice I’ve added a DSP panel on the inside too just because I love the Dandy Designs DSP which can be yours for FREE if you order £45 of product during Saleabration from me or your usual demonstrator.

Final steps

Colour in your toadstool and gnome and fussy cut out your gnome. Glue the toadstool frame to the larger square coloured cardstock die cut. Now to glue this piece to the front of the white concertina fold inside. Fold the card shut and then apply glue to the section of the white cardstock you can see through the front. Place your stitched frame in position so it sits inside the cut out square and secure the gnome in place with stampin dimensionals.

AND you’ve created your pop out fancy fold card !
