I kicked off 2021 returning to my weekly Facebook live craft and chat on Wednesday evening at 8pm GMT. It was so nice to chat with some of my customers and fellow demonstrators as I made the ‘happy’ cards. I am going to share them both with you today.

Take a look at the pretty perennials stamp set in my online shop and see how many occasions the sentiments cover.

Sending lots of happy card

For this card I made a Rococo Rose card base and stamped the small flower around the border. I stamped the flower in the same colour so it gives a tone on tone effect. Next I stamped “happy” in Rococo Rose followed by a flower each side of the sentiment. Gorgeous Grape is used to stamp “sending lots of” and the two little leaf clusters. l am adding an inside layer for writing on and stamp a little along the bottom or in the corner.

Pink card base stamped with daisy style flowers and topped with a whisper white layer. The white layer has the words Sending lots of happy. Sending lots of is stamped in purple ink and is capital letters. The 'happy' is stamped underneath n pink and is a swirly hand written font. The words are in the bottom right hand corner of the white layer. They are framed by two pink flowers topped with a white sparkling gem and two purple leaf duos at the top and bottom. This is a happy card to send to a friend.

The card layer was glued to the card base with stampin dimensionals and to finish off the card I added a couple of elegant gems to the flower centers.

You make me happy card

The second card is requires more stamping for its design. I took a whisper white card layer that I stamped all over to make my own designer series paper. I am choosing to keep the colours simple with Crushed Currry, Shaded Spruce and Gorgeous Grape. You can see I randomly built up the images across the layer and for the leaves I stamped twice with the image before re-inking.

This shows a yellow card base topped with a floral frame consisting of yellow pansy type flowers, purple daisy style flowers, dark green leaves and pink pollen centres. Some of the yellow flowers have white sparkly gems in their centres. These are all randomly stamped over the white layer to create a pretty background. A yellow banner is towards the right band bottom corner and has the words "you make me" stamped in purple capital letter. Each word is individually cut out and stuck on the left hand side of the yellow banner. The word "happy" is stamped in yellow and fussy cut out close to the lettering and glued to the right of "you make me". A happy card to send a friend or family.

The sentiments are stamped in Crushed Curry and Gorgeous Grape and fussy cut before attaching to a Crushed Curry card strip with dimensionals. This is bordered with a whisper white strip before gluing to the card itself. Finally, some elegant gems are added to the flower centres again for a little sparkle !

So which one do you think you will have a go at making? I’d love to see them if you share them on social media just tag @theinkynook. Until next time,
