It’s all about summer events to get creative for on the Stamptastic Friends blog hop today. I recently went to a lovely friend’s wedding with another friend and I was tasked with arranging the card and present! So Sophie had chosen soft blues and greens for their wedding colours and I opted for a floral wedding card and co-ordinating gift packaging.

The Hand Penned suite is feminine and floral but the designer series paper (DSP) also has some spotty and striped patterns. This makes it a really versatile DSP and teamed with the stamp set and dies this is a must have product suite for your crafting collection.

Handmade floral wedding card

For the card I cut out a mint macaron card base but cutting a sheet of A4 cardstock in half and scoring down the middle. Next I cut a piece of copper foil sheet which measured 5mm less than the card base front and glued to the base. The next step was to add the DSP layer which was then 5mm smaller all the way round than the copper layer.

The sentiment and little hearts are stamped in mint macaron onto a basic white card strip. Behind this I am adding a strip of scalloped lace trim back with mint macaron cardstock (cut out with the Hand Penned dies to give a scalloped edge). The final element is another strip of the DSP on the reverse side to the main card layer.

Co-ordinating gift holder

Making a gift envelope to coordinate with the floral wedding card simply required the designer series paper and the retired envelope punch board. I made a ‘belly band’ to hold it shut and stamped one of the larger stamps on both the DSP and the card.

Then I popped the honeymoon Euros inside and tucked both envelopes into a little white gift bag.

Finishing touches

A quick handmade gift tag using some leftover DSP is the perfect finishing touch to the gift bag. The happy couple had a wonderful day and were delighted with their floral wedding card and pressie.
